KIDS' GARDEN OPENING CELEBRATION

Dreams do come true…and this one—an outdoor play space for kids visiting Sister Carmen Community Center—was a long time coming! We celebrated the completion of our Nature Nook with a party on October 2nd.

It's been wonderful to see this special space come to life in our garden. A HUGE thank you to all the generous donors and dedicated volunteers who helped make this natural wonderland a reality!

FOOD DRIVE THANK YOU

We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated to our September Community Food Drive! Over 4,300 pounds of food, household goods, and toiletries were collected for our neighbors. What a wonderful way to recognize Hunger Action Month!

Thank you also to all our volunteers and staff who gave their time, energy, and enthusiasm to help with this event.

If you missed the food drive, you can visit sistercarmen.org to learn about other ways to donate food. Thank you!

KIDS' GARDEN PERGOLA

In just ONE day the Young Men’s Service League-Boulder County transformed slats of wood into a beautiful pergola that will provide much-needed shade for children playing in the sandbox of our new children’s garden. We’re so grateful for their hard work, generosity, and the lasting gift they’ve given our community. We can’t wait to see the many smiles this shady spot will bring!

Click the video to see how the YMSL constructed the pergola.

KIDS' GARDEN MURAL

Thanks to the vision of Boulder Valley School District’s Summit Middle School Art Teacher Meghan Chase and her wonderful students, the kids' garden fence was also transformed in just one day!

We’re so grateful for their creativity, hard work, and the beautiful gift they’ve given our community. The mural adds joy and wonder to the area. Click to view the video for an incredible before and after.

  IN THE COMMUNITY

YES ON 1A

It's time to vote, Colorado, so we're sharing the ballot measures we believe will improve our community, especially in the face of cutbacks to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Medicaid.

We're endorsing 1A Brighter Start Boulder County because it invests resources where they're needed most: in our families, our early childhood educators, and our economy! Learn more about 1A here.

YES ON 87

We're also endorsing Amendment 87, the Income Tax Fairness Act, this November. Most Colorado taxpayers will get a tax cut while giant corporations and households earning over $500,000 will pay their fair share for our schools, health care, and child care. Learn more about Amendment 87 here.
